ARTISOFT WINS INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR ITS LANTASTIC«
NETWORK
(TUCSON, Ariz. -- December 6, 1991) -- Artisoft, Inc.,
announced today that its LANtastic Local Area Network was awarded
an Innovator of the Year Award for Computer/Software Innovation.
Artisoft's Founder, President and CEO, C. John Schoof II accepted
the award at the Arizona Innovation Network's Second Annual Awards
Presentation December 4 at The Buttes in Phoenix.
Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of hardware and
software for local area networks including the LANtastic Local Area
Network. The LANtastic network is the leading DOS-based peer-to-
peer network and has won numerous industry awards for its cost-
effective features, performance, and ease of use. It allows up to
300 users of IBM«-compatible computers to connect and share
information and peripheral devices such as printers, hard drives
and CD-ROMs.
There were three other recipients in this year's awards
presentation: John Prince, Ph.D., for Individual Innovator; the
MER Corporation for Product Innovation; and Active Noise and
Vibration Technologies for Engineering/Science Innovation. For
